Fort Screven

Built about 1875, Fort Screven was manned during the Spanish-American War, World War I and World War II - when General George C. Marshall commanded it. This mordern beach fort, never actually restored, captivates visitors who marvel at private residences nestled atop its walls, its maganificent view of the Atlantic and the Savannah River, and the panorama of local history which its museum depicts.
