Located on the grounds of former Hamilton Plantation. Two slave cabins, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, are located here and are open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Other times by appointment - call 912-638-5791) Live Oak timbers milled here in 1794 were used in building "Old Ironsides," the USS Constitution. In 1874, timbers were cut here for the Brooklyn Bridge.

    The inaugural St. Simons Food & Spirits Festival will commence to raise dollars and awareness for the Hospice of the Golden Isles. This festival promises to become an annual favorite, allowing guests to experience all that is unique about our community, while helping build a legacy for Hospice of the Golden Isles. Area restaurants, regional farmers and artisans will be the highlight of Saturday's tasting tents, farm stand and market.
