Located on the grounds of former Hamilton Plantation. Two slave cabins, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, are located here and are open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Other times by appointment - call 912-638-5791) Live Oak timbers milled here in 1794 were used in building "Old Ironsides," the USS Constitution. In 1874, timbers were cut here for the Brooklyn Bridge.
