The Genealogical Society is located at 71 Macon Street in McDonough, Georgia, about 35 miles southeast of Atlanta off I-75 South.  It is housed in the 1826 home of Andrew McBride, a Revolutionary War Soldier.  The house, which is now known as the Brown House, was once a hotel owned by the Brown family and is among the oldest-surviving buildings in Henry County.  It has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1991.  We are located about two blocks from the Henry County Courthouse and the town square.

The Family Research Library is a non-circulating reference library staffed by volunteers and has available over 2,600 books of genealogical interest. Plus, our microfilm scanner makes it easy to access a microfilm collection that includes census records and over 100 years' worth of Atlanta newspapers. We have Ancestry.com, Fold3, Family Search, and Newspapers.com available via computer.  We also have wireless capabilities, if you would like to bring your own laptop.  Non-members may use the library at the Brown House for a fee of $5 per visit.
