Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village at ABAC

Explore the farm! Hear the train whistle blow! Experience 19th century-style farm activities, from planting and harvesting to cooking, spinning and quilt making throughout the structures. Georgia's Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village opened as the Agrirama on July 4, 1976. More than 35 structures have been relocated to the 95-acre site and faithfully restored or preserved. Costumed docents share the history and lifestyle of this time in Georgia's history as they perform daily chores and duties in the farmhouses, blacksmith shop or gristmill.

Climb aboard the Vulcan Iron Works Steam Locomotive, the only steam-powered train in regular operation in the state, and enjoy the Historic Village from the seat of an open air rail car. Stroll up Main Street to the Feed and Seed store and the print shop, and visit the drug store for a root beer float.

Take a tour of the original Victorian home of Tifton's founder, Henry Harding Tift. Representing an upper-class dwelling in a rural town, the home's fine architectural craftsmanship, unique curving walls and elements, and stunning curly pine accents demonstrate Captain Tift's strong ties to the timber industry and his experience as a maritime captain.

The grounds consist of six areas: the Museum of Agriculture, an 1870s farm community, an 1890s progressive farmstead, an industrial sites complex, a rural town, and the National Peanut Museum.
