The Gopher Plantation offers hunting, quality lodging and home cooking in a historic atmosphere. The plantation complex is a museum of a typical South Georgia farm as it existed around the turn of the century. Lodging, dining and more are provided in charming, log-cabin style buildings.
The Gopher Plantation is comprised of 9,500 acres, consisting of cypress ponds, beaver ponds, ty-ty bays, numerous streams and the Satilla River meandering through hardwood bottoms. Arnold Bay, consisting of some 200 acres is centrally located within the compound and provides an ideal habitat and refuge for wildlife.
Gopher Plantation has been family owned and managed for 20 years. Now open to the public, it offers superb hunting with more than 35 miles of roads and trails.
Guests can hunt whitetail deer, bobwhite quail, turkey gobbler and wild boar. Unique log cabin accommodations along with Gopher Plantation's famous "road kill" supper make it a true wilderness experience!
