Escape from the high-speed life to this quaint historic town 15 minutes southeast of Newnan. Senoia, named for a Creek Indian princess whose tribe ceded the land to the state in the early 1800s, developed from a cluster of farms into an 1827 railroad community, officially becoming a town in 1860. Much of Senoia retains its historic character, with 150 Greek Revival, antebellum and Victorian structures, sidewalks and tree-lined streets.
Don't miss seeing the Buggy Shop Museum (see related listing). Then have lunch at Senoia Coffee Co. or Redneck Gourmet. Stop in for a drink and watch the game at Maguire's Pub or dine at Founders Restaurant. Downtown Senoia has great shopping, unique gifts and antiques. Walking and driving tour brochures are available.
