Explore the Atlanta History Center, located on 33 acres in the heart of Buckhead. The History Center includes one of the Southeast's largest history museums; two historic houses including Swan House and Smith Family Farm; Centennial Olympic Games Museum; 22 acres of historic gardens and woodland trails; and Kenan Research Center including the Cherokee Garden Library. The History Center also includes the Margaret Mitchell House, located at our midtown campus. Throughout the year, enjoy lecture series with award-winning authors, summer campsannual festivals such as Sheep to Shawl and much more.

    The Atlanta History Center's Capitol Tour experience offers visitors an opportunity to pay tribute to Atlanta's burgeoning film industry as well as Swan House's new chapter in cinematic history.     History in Gone With the Wind will open in the Kenan Research Center at the Atlanta History Center. Atlanta illustrator Wilbur G. Kurtz served as the historian to the motion picture, Gone With the Wind. The exhibition reveals Kurtz's involvement and influence on historical accuracy and depiction of Atlanta in the film.
