The house is a circa 1818 Greek Revival located on 11 pastoral acres in a national historic district. There is a walking tour brochure available of the city as well as a driving tour of the historic county sites. Oglethorpe County is a very agricultural area and is rich in history. The local library has a Heritage section, established by Historic Oglethorpe County, Inc. that has a wealth of information for researching local history or genealogy. There is also a thriving arts community with many local artists, as well as a local arts organization, Arts! Oglethorpe, which is both a theater and visual and musical arts organization that has several shows per year. We are part of the Heritage Art Loop which has artists in residence, shops and galleries, as well as restaurants and coffee shops to complete your stay.
