Drive generally south from the Georgia-South Carolina border at the Savannah River through the historic communities and cities of Chennault, Washington, Raytown, Warrenton, Sandersville, Dublin, Rhine, Abbeville and Fitzgerald to Irwinville, where Jefferson Davis was captured on May 10, 1865 and the Civil War officially ended. This trail then turns north through Hawkinsville and Warner Robins to Macon, where Davis was first taken on his way to prison.
