    Tales from the Altamaha is an award-winning Georgia folk-life play performed at the historic Blue Marquee Theater in downtown Lyons. The play is based on the writings of Colonel T. Ross Sharpe, a local attorney born and raised on the Altamaha River. Sharpe wrote a series of essays in the local newpaper, The Lyons Progress, during the 1950s and 60s about settlers of the area surrounding the Altamaha river.
