Home of Declaration of Independence signer George Walton, this pre-1791 farm house is Augusta's oldest documented house. Furnished with period furniture to reflect late 18th and early 19th centuries. A visit to Meadow Garden includes a tour of the house, showing period furnishings and Walton family memorabilia; the medicinal herb garden; the kitchen garden; plantings of flowers, fruits and shrubbery of the period; 18th and 19th century American and English furnishings, porcelains, paintings, primitive household equipment; and the museum shop. Speakers and a slide presentationof the house and grounds are available.
