Visitors' and Newcomers alike will find this building a resource for information about Jasper County, past and present. The building, once a general and hardware store c. 1887, now serves multiple purposes. It serves as the trail-head for the Monticello Scenic Byway, which runs along Georgia Highways 11 and 83 North beginning at the Downtown Square. Here you can find information on the Scenic Byway, what makes it scenic and information on a bicycle path that uses the Byway and secondary roads. The Center also houses information on the many cemeteries located throughout the county and their inhabitants as well as information on may surrounding communities, things to do and see and information on the County and the cities located within, Monticello and Shady Dale.

The Visitors' Center also has historical exhibits, notable natives exhibits, and a gift shop featuring locally produced items as well as books on local history.
