The Museum of Aviation houses some of the 85 historic U.S. Air Force aircraft, missiles, cockpits and award-winning exhibits. Some notable aircraft are a SR-71 spy plane, the B-52, B-25 and B-1B bombers, cargo planes C-46, C-47, C-54, and C-130, fighter planes P-40, F-15, F-4D, and F-16. Several open-to-the-public cockpits are the F-105, H-1, F-15 and a C-130. Some exhibits include the 14th Air Force Flying Tigers, the 483rd Bomb Group, the story of WWII Ace Brig. Gen. Robert L. Scott, the Korean War, the Tuskegee Airmen, the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment and Air Invasion of Normandy.
Housed in the Museum of Aviation, The Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame honors distinguished men and women who made significant contributions to aviation in Georgia.
Guided tours are available for groups of 15 or more. The museum has a gift shop, Victory Café, and picnic tables.
This event is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
