Named for Neptune Small, a faithful servant of the King family of Retreat Plantation. A bronze plaque there recounts his herorism in retrieving the body of a King son from the battlefield during the Civil War. Grills, picnic tables facilities under the shade of majestic old Live Oaks.     Though Hurricane Irma swept through, it only postponed Golden Isles Arts & Humanities' final Sounds by the Sea concert.  Popular local favorite Michael Hulett has been rescheduled to perform on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Neptune Park, Oceanside of the Casino Building on St. Simons Island.
