It passes through the Oconee National Forest outside of Athens and into Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville. After dams in Milledgeville, the river flows unhindered. Sandbars and oxbow lakes become more frequent. South of Dublin, rock cliffs can be found.Wildlife sightseeing opportunities.
