Built as the Executive Mansion, it was home to Georgia's governors from 1839 to 1868. One of the most perfect examples of Greek Revival architecture in Georgia, it also received the prestigious Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation award. The Old Governor's Mansion was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1973. It is significant for both its high-style Greek Revival architecture and its close association with nationally important events. The house is open for tours Tues-Sat from 10am - 4pm and Sun from 2pm - 4pm. Tours begin on the hour.
Visitors may also take advantage of the special tours featured throughout the year at the Mansion. Currently being featured are the Curator's Tours, "Behind Closed Doors," "Labor Behind the Veil," and the "Collections Tour."
