Steelaway is a modern construction of a three mast gaff rigged topsail schooner. Welder/Fabricator John Fazzio laid the first plate in 1989, following the blueprints of Tom Colvin, Naval Architect and Master of Steel boat construction. The bare hull was launched in 2002. Since then, her captains, John Fazzio and Anne Stone, continued to build and construct. While not completely finished, the schooner is far enough along to offer comfortable scenic pleasure cruises. Schooner Steelaway currently resides in St. Marys, Ga.
