Stately Antebellum Oaks, the fictional plantation home of Brent and Stuart Tarleton, is a unique bed and breakfast inn and should be consided a "must stay" for any fan of Gone With the Wind. Built in 1849 (local signage says 1859), it was the plantation home for cotton magnate Josiah Holmes. Sometime in the late 1850s, Maryland educator Charles Lambdin purchased the estate. Lambdin founded Barnesville's first newspaper and Gordon Military Institute, now Gordon State College.

Situated on a three-acre property with lovely gardens, a gazebo and swings, Antebellum Oaks Bed and Breakfast is conveniently located within walking distance of Main Street in downtown Barnesville, where plenty of art galleries and antique shops await your visit.
