Celebrate the life and art of Ellen Axson Wilson with a special exhibition at Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum. The exhibition serves as the centerpiece for a series of events, and will feature over 20 of her impressionist paintings on loan from the Woodrow Wilson House, a National Trust Historic Site in Washington, D.C., and the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library in Staunton, Va.

Wilson was born in 1860 in Savannah, Ga., grew up in Rome, Ga., and went on to become the First Lady of Princeton University, the First Lady of New Jersey, and the First Lady of the United States. She was the beloved first wife of 28th U.S. President Woodrow Wilson. The Ellen Axson Wilson Homecoming, 100 years after her death, will include lectures, memorials and study, all paying tribute to the famous Roman who was scheduled to return to her hometown the Fall after her death in August, 1914.
