Ossabaw Island Service Weekend
Ossabaw Island, GA 31419
Join the Georgia Conservancy, Keeping It Wild, and the Ossabaw Island Foundation for a weekend service trip to Ossabaw Island on September 19-21, 2014.
This trip is an incredibly rare opportunity to enjoy a primitive and remote barrier island, and to support its preservation by giving back with some elbow grease. Guests will do everything – landscaping, scrubbing and cleaning the historic structures, maintaining trails, and restoring a campsite. Because of their hard work, guests can enjoy below market rates for a weekend that includes ferry transportation, lodging and meals.
Guests can choose to camp (the Georgia Conservancy will provide equipment from REI) or stay in the island's clubhouse, which will also be used as the main base for the weekend's events.
