Explore the southern charm and beautiful scenic byways of the Antebellum Trail Bicycle Route, a 180-mile trek that winds through a collection of Georgia's most beautiful antebellum towns.

In each town, you will experience an abundance of unique history, much of it tied to the American Civil War and our country's Native American heritage. The town centers of Athens and Macon – the largest stops along the route – provide you with a wide variety of options for dining, shopping, nightlife and hospitality. In contrast, the town centers of Madison, Milledgeville and Watkinsville each feature home-grown shopping and dining experiences with a cool, artistic flair.

Eatonton and Gray offer a rare opportunity to experience Small Town USA. Take time to visit each community's Welcome Center, town square, shops, restaurants and quaint settings. You'll get a big helping of the simpler pleasures in life.

The 180-mile Antebellum Trail Bicycle Route can be covered all at once or divided into shorter segments. Follow the 50-mile, three-day itinerary for the northern section of the trail, or the 130-mile, four-day itinerary for the southern section.
