The Big Red Oak Planation is a 3500 acre hunting preserve which can accommodate a wide range of hunting types. Hunting guides can tailor the hunt to meet your needs. Guns, supplies and lodging can be provided as well as half and full day hunts. Trips can be arranged for deer, turkey, pheasant and quail as well as a world-class state-of-the-art Sporting Clay Facility. The decline of the native bobwhite quail led to the establishment of the hunting preserve in 1974 to restore the quail population and as a sideline to farming. Now, where cotton, peaches, corn and soybeans were grown, the farm is planted in switch grass, love grass, small grains, clover, partridge pea, and bi-color lespedeza strictly for wildlife management. In 2004, we added a Sporting Clay Range with 5-Stand. The range is a fully automated course.

We also added a few new buildings, a pro shop with shooting inventory and ammunition, a pavilion that can accommodate 150 plus people and a covered barbecue area. Hunting is 7 days a week and the Office and Sporting Clays at Wednesday - Sunday.

Our Rustic Lodge will provide you with a setting in which to relax between your hunts and a place where you can enjoy a good night's sleep. We can accommodate up to 12 guests with our various bedroom plans and our 3 full bathrooms. After the hunt, you can relax around our open fireplace or take advantage of our regulation pool table and satellite TV. Admire the view from a rocking chair overlooking our twenty-five acre lake. Be sure to bring your fishing tackle because the lake is stocked with bream and trophy bass.
