Tybee Beach Ecology Trips are offered year-round by marine biologist Dr. Joe Richardson. Trips are scheduled and arranged for any size group, ranging from families, schools to adult tour groups that want to have fun, see and learn about the variety of marine life along the Georgia coast. Scheduling is flexible and usually depends on low tide. Price depends on group size.
Trips are normally conducted at the north end of Tybee Island and include a variety of activities and topics, including jetty ecology, tide pools, intertidal zone ecology, plant and animal adaptations and identification, beachcombing, exploring life on the sandy shore, pulling a beach net, discussing tides, and other subjects (see website at: http://ceasurf.com/pages/beachtrips.aspx). Don't miss the variety of marine life that grows along the Georgia coast. The keys are knowing where and how to explore, and what you are finding. Take a trip with Dr. Joe for a fun way to learn at the beach.
