Union County Museum is located in the historic and restored Union County Courthouse. Built in 1899, the building was designed by J.W. Golucke, a noted courthouse architect of the day. It was condemned in the 1970s but was saved from demolition by the Union County Historical Society. Since then it has been restored and maintained by the Union County Historical Society along with several other preservation projects and is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Several displays in the museum halls pertain to Union County’s history.

Also see the internationally renowned Margarita Morgan Miniature Collection, which contains many miniature buildings from the 1940s to the 1970s and "Rapture," an excellent example of American primitive art, painted by the late Everett Hunt. There's also a collection of Native American artifacts, exhibits of historic, educational, religious, occupational, domestic, governmental, and military objects.

Admission is free. However, a small donation is always appreciated for museum upkeep.
