The West Theatre opened in August of 1941 by LAM Amusement Co. The opening attraction was "Three Sons O'Guinn." Designed by the GA architectural firm Tucker & Howell, it featured a relief sculpture by Julian Hoke Harris. When the West Theatre opened, it was the largest theatre operated by LAM.

Considered on the finest examples of Art Deco style in northwest Georgia, it features hanging chandeliers in the lobby, and movie cards from the 1950s and 1960s adorn the walls. It is still in operation today, as a twin screen movie theatre.
