The Chattahoochee National Forest in the county boasts scenic attractions such as Helton Creek Falls, Trackrock Archaeological Area (ancient Indian petroglyphs), and Brasstown Bald.  The Russell-Brasstown Scenic Byway and the Southern Highroads Trail pass through the county, offering beautiful vistas and outstanding scenery. Mountain Crossing is the only point where a man-made structure overhangs the Appalachian Trail. Nearby Vogel State Park with its CCC Museum is a longtime favorite for camping or a cozy cabin retreat. Play golf, fish, go horseback riding, check out the local grist or sorghum mill, shop for crafts and antiques, visit museums or just enjoy the mountain vistas.
