Winfield Campground is located on the Little River near Mistletoe State Park on J. Strom Thurmond Lake. The 70,000-acre lake and its 1,000 miles of shoreline provide excellent boating, water skiing, swimming, fishing, hiking and picnicking.
Winfield has 80 sites with electric (50-amp) and water hook-ups. The sites are varied, and most are directly on the water. Site fees are $24 per night for single sites. The sites accommodate one RV, and tents are limited to impact pad capacity. Pets are allowed if penned or leashed. Public use of alcohol is prohibited. Gates open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.
On a visit to Mistletoe State Park, visitors may use nature trails, visit a nature center, and see abundant wildlife, including deer, bald eagles, wild turkey and migratory waterfowl. A mixed pine and hardwood forest covers the site, providing summer shade and fall color.
