Montgomery Lake where Bass was caught

Montgomery Lake, located on Horse Creek Wildlife Management Area, is an oxbow off the Ocmulgee River.  At Montgomery Lake, the world record largemouth bass was caught by George W. Perry on June 2, 1932. It weighed 22 lbs 4 ozs. This record still stands and helped to give this area of Georgia a reputation as a fisherman's paradise.  

The lake can be visited by vehicle through Horse Creek Management Area. There is no boat access to Montgomery Lake.
