In observance of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, Augusta Canal National Heritage Area presents a Petersburg boat tour highlighting Augusta's role as a Confederate city. The one-hour tour explores the behind-the-lines role that the canal played in supplying the troops, including the famous Confederate Powder Works, Rigdon-Ansley Pistol factory, Confederate Bakery, shoe factory and much more. Informative guides share stories from this explosive time in our history as you enjoy a ride along the beautiful Augusta Canal.
