Fire Ant Festival

Held the fourth weekend of March, Ashburn hosts the Fire Ant Festival. Known for its wacky and off-the-wall activities, the festival offers family-oriented fun for all ages. Activities include the fire ant calling contest, the giant fire ant maze, carnival, 5K race, a poker run, pageant, arts and crafts, fireworks, bands, photo contest, art contest, health fair, BBQ cookoff, strawberry cookoff, and much more.

Friday, March 22, 2013, the fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with a K9 dog show. A lip sync contest begins at 7 p.m., and at 8 p.m., Michael Jackson impersonator Todd Allen Henderson will perform in concert. There is no charge for the concert, which will be followed by fireworks. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the fun in the park!

Saturday, March 23, live free entertainment will take place all day at Heritage Park.
