Tour Bonaventure Cemetery by day or night with 25-year authority, author and filmmaker Shannon Scott. The acclaimed storyteller leads public and private daytime tours, as well as specialty "after hours" events. Hear about famed lyricist Johnny Mercer, underground cool poet Conrad Aiken, maritime hero Josiah Tattnall III, photographer Jack Leigh, silent film great Edythe Chapman, and the list goes on. Stories stretch from present day all the way back to Bonaventure's plantation beginnings in 1754.
Bonaventure After Hours on Friday and Saturday, is Savannah's ONLY evening cemetery event offered to the public and has more of a macabre, off-beat edge, and full of nuances unavailable on the daytime tours. Can also be done privately for groups on altnernate nights in either two-hour or three-hour installments.
Another group offering is Dinner & A Cemetery, a two-hour tour, followed by a Q & A dinner, full of Victorian artifacts tied to funeary arts and Savannah's freemasonry past. Please inquire.
