The third annual Tunes from the Tombs music festival at Historic Oakland Cemetery will be June 8, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. This fundraising event features musicians performing in and among Oakland's extraordinary monuments, mausoleums and renowned gardens. All genres of music will be represented: rock, folk, Americana, jazz, classical, and everything in between. Attendees also can take a complimentary guided mini-tour, or have their fortunes read by Atlanta's own, Robyn Avalon.
Tickets are available online through Ticket Alternative. Adults are $10 online, or $15 at the gate. Children ages 4-12 are $5 (3 and under are free). More info can be found at oaklandcemetery.com.
Bring blanket or lawn chair. No coolers or outside food allowed. Food trucks will be serving a variety of festival fare, and beer and wine will be available for purchase. Parking is $5 at the Grady Health Systems Parking Lot behind the King Memorial MARTA station, and in the Oakland Cemetery Parking Lot.
