The annual Spring Tour of Homes in Washington on April 5-6, 2013, will feature at least six private homes open only for this tour. It also includes many churches, public buildings, museums and other sites.

The weekend will begin with a Champagne Reception on Friday evening at 201 Court Street, the home of Mayor Barnett, which was built to be a replica of Confederate President Jefferson Davis' home "Beauvoir" in Biloxi, Miss. Also enjoy strolling around Washington's historic square, taking in the quaint shops and restaurants. Don't miss the magnificent stained glass in the churches and the Mary Willis Library just off the square.

Six of Washington's beautiful homes will be featured on the Saturday Day Tour. Courtesy tour cars will be provided Saturday only. Museums will offer free entry 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. to those who have purchased a tour ticket.

Enjoy a seated luncheon on Saturday in the historic Woman's Club House. Advance reservations are suggested. Call 706-678-5111.

The tour is sponsored by the Women's Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Washington-Wilkes Chamber of Commerce.
