For the past 20 years, community members in Colquitt have been creating their own success story. They have collectively written, composed and performed original storytelling theatre and, in doing so, have revitalized their rural town. The show is called "Swamp Gravy," a reference to a tomato-based concoction that, like the piece itself, varies in ingredients and is full of local flavor. Come be a part of Georgia's Official Folk-Life Play, guaranteed to warm your heart and put a chuckle in your belly.
A new Swamp Gravy show premieres every weekend in October with a remount every weekend in March. Each play is created from the true stories of Miller County residents and performed by a seasoned group of volunteers. "Swamp Gravy: Live and Learn" is the 20th anniversary show.
Shows are every weekend in October and March at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday. For tickets, call 1-800-514-3849. For more information, call (229) 758-5450 or visit www.swampgravy.com.
