Visit Darien's Waterfront Park for the annual three-day Blessing of the Fleet Festival April 12-14, 2013. The festival features a weekend full of activities, including a classic car show and a juried art show that draws artistic talent from across the Southeast.
The fun begins Friday at 5 p.m. with arts and crafts booths, and live entertainment by Brent Browning and the County Line Band will begin at 7 p.m.
Saturday events include Art In The Park, the YMCA 5K River Run/Walk, the Darien Lion's Club Street Parade and the annual Classic Car Show. Vic Waters, Family and Friends will rev-up Saturday evening at 6 p.m. on the Waterfront Stage.
Sunday is packed with another day of Art In The Park and music starting at 11 a.m. At 2 p.m., the magnificent parade of shrimp trawlers begins. Each boat approaches the Darien Bridge to obtain a blessing for the coming year of fishing.
