The Challenge of the Centuries Bike Ride May 25-26, 2013, is open to cyclists and accomplished skaters. Beginning and ending in Hartwell (adjacent to beautiful Lake Hartwell and the Georgia/South Carolina border), participants enjoy riding loops that traverse rolling back country roads with picturesque scenery and minimum traffic. Each day, there are three different rides and routes: 100 miles, 100 kilometers and 50 kilometers.
Location is the Hartwell Family YMCA in Hartwell. Camping on site is available. Several hotels and two bed and breakfast inns are nearby.
Enjoy this spectacular sight or the simple beauty of the wild roadside roses as you ride the Challenge of the Centuries. The Challenge of the Centuries is an official Bicycle Ride Across Georgia 2012 Training Ride. Since 1991, this ride has been sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell.
