Female artists, writers, photographers, designers and adventurers settled in Paris between the wars. They embraced France and cherished a way of life quite different than the one they left behind. This documentary presents archival footage, music, paintings, literature, and interviews with folks who were there, including Berenice Abbott, Djuna Barnes, Sylvia Beach, Adrienne Monnier, Gertrude Stein, Alice B. Toklas, Colette, Janet Flanner, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and James Joyce. (1996, NR, 75 min.)
