Enjoy sugarcane grinding, syrup cooking, sweet grass basket sewing, quilting and more! This event celebrates the fall harvest, Thanksgiving and the Gullah Geechee culture and heritage. Featuring hourly performances by groups such as the Gullah Geechee Shouters, music and dance demonstrations, instrument making demos and storytelling. Co-Directors Jim and Pat Bacote and the staff are dedicated to presenting, preserving, and perpetuating the time honored cultural traditions of the Gullah-Geechee people. Geechee Kunda houses artifacts, relics, and implements from Africa, as well as our Coastal Georgia region, some dating back to the 1700's.
