The Albany Civic Center negotiates with groups, firms and individuals to provide a wide variety of attractions for citizens from throughout Southwest Georgia. Evangelist Ralph Bell of Billy Graham ministries, popular singer Elton John and rock bands Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top recently appeared at the Civic Center. The arena also hosts high school and college basketball and a variety of exhibitions and conventions.

    Empty Bowls 2015 is a joint outreach of the Albany Area Arts Council & SOWEGA Council on Aging. It is a project designed to fight hunger personalized by artists on a community level. Enjoy a variety of soups from local restaurants and take home a handcrafted bowl made by a local artists as a reminder of all the empty bowls throughout our community.
