With a history spanning over 30 years, the museum presents various exhibitions each year in seven different gallery spaces. Our exhibition program is designed to reflect diverse cultures, periods, aesthetic styles, and movements. Our AMAzing Space Gallery provides interactive learning through hands-on experiences for children of all ages. The Albany Museum of Art houses an impressive permanent collection which includes one of the largest collections of sub-Saharan African art in the Southeast.

Epic of Flight: A Folk Tale

Evan Jones, a native of Cashiers, North Carolina, was inspired by a book series called 'The Epic of Flight' which chronicles the history of human aviation.
According to his artists' statement for this exhibit, he was interested in making associations between birds and airplanes. Growing up, he has always been fascinated with vintage warplanes and by bird watching his mother's bird feeder, waiting to see what would visit.

The Albany Museum of Art continues our 50th Anniversary with an exhibition by renowned Italian-born artist Athos Menaboni. A Georgia resident for more than sixty years, he's best known for his paintings of more than 150 bird species native to this region.
