Rock City's Southern Blooms Festival May 3-5, 2013, celebrates the beauty of spring and is full of events for garden enthusiasts. Group garden tours led by Rock City's Director of Horticulture and Chattanooga's Master Gardeners will be available each morning. Limited space available; first come first serve. Tours begin promptly at the Rock City Ticket Desk at 9 a.m.
The Frieda Utermoehlen Carter Garden Series offers daily lectures by some of the South's foremost horticultural experts, and a full schedule of daily interactive workshops is posted on the Rock City website. Local artisan vendors will be on site with handmade garden items and related gifts, and the Hamilton County Master Gardeners will be available for garden questions and planting advice.
Kids will enjoy make-and-take projects and pictures with Rocky and Friends, daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They also can play on the rock climbing wall, pan for gems and have Fairyland Forrest Makeovers. (An additional charge may apply for some activities.)
