Harvest time has arrived in the North Georgia mountains. The season brings the sights of fall colors, the sounds of mountain music, and the scents of BBQ smoke and fermenting wine. Dahlonega's first family farm winery celebrates the 2013 Vintage Season for seven weekends in a row from Sept. 14 through Oct. 27 with live music, BBQ and wine tasting. It's where the pork meets the cork with special tastings of Three Sisters' famous Fat Boy wines.
Hours are Saturdays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. with free general admission. Food, wine and Georgia beer are extra. Godfather's BBQ of Loganville and Rib Country BBQ of North Georgia will present BBQ throughout the month. Live jazz, Americana, folk, and bluegrass will be performed on the Crush Pad Deck every Saturday and Sunday. The celebration culminates with the 13th annual HalloWINE Hoot Nanny at the end of October.
