The Civil War Center at Kennesaw State University, in conjunction with the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, presents the Symposium on New Interpretations of the Civil War: 1863: Struggles East & West on Saturday, March 23 at 9:00 a.m. Renowned Civil War historians Larry Daniel, Larry Hewitt, Richard McMurry and Brian Wills will be the featured speakers.

Daniel will discuss the mistakes made in the Western theater. Hewitt will provide insights on Port Hudson, the most-photographed battlefield of the Civil War. McMurry will deliver a lecture entitled "Getting Right With Gettysburg," and Wills will share information on "The Logic of Logistics: The Suffolk Campaign of 1863."

The program will take place at the KSU Center, located off-campus, behind the Cracker Barrel, exit 271 on I-75.

On Friday evening, March 22, musician Ross Moore will perform at the Marietta Museum of History beginning at 6:00 p.m.
