Dahlonega's 4th of July Celebration
13 S. Park Street
Dahlonega, GA 30533
Join us on July 4, 2016, to celebrate Indepence Day family-style in Dahlonega on the historic town square. Do you remember being a child and what the 4th of July meant - watermelon, parades, flags waving, and fun with family and friends while you waited until it got dark enough for the fireworks. Then, you sat watching the skies with anticipation as you heard the swoosh of the rocket and the ooohs and ahhhs at the burst of light and sparkles.
Because of the 4th of July Family Day Celebration, that is what still happens in Dahlonega. The day is filled with fun activities - a fun 5k and 10k race, a patriotic ceremony on the lawn of the Gold Museum, a pet costume contest, a classic car show, and musicians filling the square with diverse sounds of bluegrass, folk and country music. The Independence Day Parade through the historic square begins around 5 p.m. and ends just in time to find a spot on the nearby drill field of the University of North Georgia to await the fireworks.
