Learn about Cherokee County's past from before the time of the Cherokee Indians through the 21st century. The museum and visitors center is located in the historic marble courthouse, where the renovated jail and courtroom are also open. The courthouse and museum are located in downtown Canton's Historic District, which has numerous shops, parks and restaurants.

    The Cherokee County Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of our new temporary exhibit in the Cherokee County History Museum on June 29, 2016. Old, New, Borrowed, Blue will feature wedding dresses, photographs, and accessories from women around the county.
