Learn about Cherokee County's past from before the time of the Cherokee Indians through the 21st century. The museum and visitors center is located in the historic marble courthouse, where the renovated jail and courtroom are also open. The courthouse and museum are located in downtown Canton's Historic District, which has numerous shops, parks and restaurants.

    The new temporary exhibition featured at the Cherokee County History Museum and Visitor's Center is At the Races: Dixie Speedway. The exhibit will run from April 16 until July 26, 2014. Dixie Speedway in Woodstock has been entertaining racing fans for 45 years. First opened in 1969 as a dirt track, it was paved for a time and then converted back to dirt.
