Join us for a family friendly day of fun, where arts & crafts vendors, garden exhibits, live entertainment and guest speakers provide the activities. Downtown Madison sets the beautiful backdrop for a day of family entertainment and fun! Eat, play and enjoy yourself while visiting MadisonFest.
The day’s activities include:
A plant sale. Plant vendors will be on hand to help you select plants to stand up to southeastern heat and humidity for your flower, fruit, and vegetable gardens.
Lectures by experts in their fields. We’ll host informal discussions with speakers on various gardening topics – George Sanko, Director of the Native Plant Garden at Georgia Perimeter College will bring some of his preferred plants to share with us; David Arnal of the Bee Factory will tell us how to encourage pollinators in our home garden; Rutledge resident, and Morgan County Master Gardener, Hilda Chilton will be demonstrating proper tomato propagation techniques for gardens and containers, and; for all of you foodies out there, Mimi Maumus, the chef /owner of home.made catering in Athens will demonstrate how to prepare some simple, traditional southern treats from scratch.
Locally grown products. Madison Locally Grown and local farmers will be on hand to sell their wares - direct to you from the farm! Bring a cooler to carry home perishables like eggs, cheese, meats and dairy products.
Crafts Sale. Handmade craft artists will be in Town Park demonstrating and selling the highest quality of handmade jewelry, furniture, clothing, home décor, and more. Watch for a list of participating crafters to be posted in March.
One great festival - all wrapped up with tasty food, excellent live entertainment, fun stuff for kids, and first choice shopping! Really, what more could you ask for?
