Rock, Roll & Run Weekend

Visit downtown Albany March 1, 2014, for Rock & Run Weekend. Downtown will be filled with runners, walkers, wheelchair racers and bands all day.

The day begins with the Albany Marathon and Half Marathon at 6:45 a.m. To register to race or volunteer for the race, visit www.albanymarathon.com.

The Mardi Gras Music Festival begins at 10:00 a.m. with live music, food, and arts and crafts. Bands will continue rockin' the stage until midnight. Activities for kids including face painting, animal shows, train rides, rock climbing and games with prizes. Admission is $5 for 13 and over, and ages 3-12 are $2 with a paid adult. Marathon and Half Marathon participants are free.

Gather at the water steps of the Flint RiverQuarium at 4 p.m. for the Flint RiverQuarium Turtle Race. 7,500 rubber turtles will hit the fountain steps in a race to the finish line. Adopt a turtle, and yours may be one of the lucky winners!
