The UGA International Street Festival celebrates world cultures and creates connections between international students and the Athens community. Visit downtown Athens April 6, 2013, from noon to 5 p.m. to see cultural displays, traditional costumes, dances and international bands. Dozens of UGA international student organizations and local community groups will sponsor informative and interactive cultural displays as well as musical and dance performances.
Visitors will have an opportunity to collect "passport" stamps from each of the countries represented; those who collect all available stamps will receive a ticket for a prize drawing. Door prizes and giveaways will be available from local sponsoring businesses. A children's corner will allow young guests to participate in activities such as coloring international paper dolls, creating flags, crafting African necklaces and much more.
