Dr. McDaniel, a member of Lovetts Class of 1962 and a former faculty member, will present the story of his great-grandmother's Civil War experience as a young girl near Jonesboro as well as his own experience as a soldier in Vietnam--connecting how their journeys through war did so much to shape their values.
McDaniel's lecture is the third in a four-year series to mark the sesquicentennial of the Civil War and the Battle of Atlanta. Its purpose is to bring to Atlanta and the Lovett campus speakers and scholars discussing critical matters of character and integrity as demonstrated during this defining period in our nations history.
Light refreshments will be served before the lecture. This lecture is free and open to the public. Reservations are required. r.s.v.p. to (404) 262-3032, ext. 1717.
